In a release NWS informed that Dol was found dead at his residence in Balijan on Sept 20th. Mega campaign held on PMMY
DAPORIJO, Oct 1: State Bank of India, Daporijo organised a mega campaign on Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojaya (PMMY), a financial assistance scheme for needy persons wherein, DC Komkar Dulom, officers, local businessmen and aspiring entrepreneurs took part today.
The DC, in his address encouraged all to avail the benefits of the loan provided by the banks to set up businesses and their expansion. He however, said that loans have to be repaid in a timely manner for the benefit of the businesses as well as banks. Terming the banking institution as a true friend providing support for a businessman, the DC highlighted the need for the small businessmen to be trained in book keeping. He also emphasized on the need for review and monitoring of businesses provided with assistance by the banks.
SBI Daporijo, Chief Manager, PK Doley briefed about the PMMY and its aim of providing assistance for setting up and expansion of small businesses and micro enterprises while, LBO, Ziro chief manager, J Singh explained in detail about the three categories under PMMY like, Sishu (upto 50,000), Kishor (upto 5 lakhs) and Tarun (upto 10 lakhs) besides, special features like simplified forms, no security or guarantor required, 5 years repayment period etc, for the Sishu category.
Field Officer Robert R also informed that the bank would provide financial assistance
under Sishu category to 31 persons initially. He further spoke on the importance
of loan repayment and disadvantages of businesses being declared non-
Addiction treatment: addict to recovering addict

Drug addiction is a disease. We may know someone who is often using alcohol or some form of drugs and we start avoiding them rather than acknowledging that they have a disease which they need treatment for. We should all remember that before he/she is an addict, they are your close ones. Certainly no one is born with a craving for alcohol/drugs. When a family member is diagnosed with a physical illness, all the close ones fight together for recovery of the sick person, likewise since addiction is also a form of disease, we all should remember to stick together and help the addict to recover.
An addict to any form of drug, they need our help and it is our duty to help him or her become a recovering addict. Every individual should provide more positive help to a recovering addict. These recovering addicts are the ones who have realised how important it is to live a drug free life and making an attempt towards the journey of sobriety. Perhaps, the stigma of addiction is the idea that we should be able to kick all the bad habits on our own. Otherwise we are weak or inferior human beings. But these expectations are unrealistic. For an addict to stay sober for long run, it is impossible to fight it alone. Some exceptional cases are witnessed but chances of relapse are very high. So if an addict really wants to recover we have to provide a fair opportunity to recovery.
As a Psychologist in Opiate Substitution Therapy (OST) in General Hospital, Pasighat since past few months, I have been dealing with persons with drug addiction. But Often I have wondered what and how does science or medicine help such people. So, what is it that, apart from any medicine and counseling that convinces the recovering addict to make change and move on with Drug free life?
Following are the major reasons why an addict sticks to change and live a drug free life.

Patience: Self realisation works well for addicts to choose the path of recovery. In the first stage of recovery, I haven’t seen many patients reaching a good motivational level for long term abstinence, but I have seen patience working. Some of the patients with support from various sources have learnt long term abstinence from drug after many attempts of treatment. One thing in common among these recovering addicts is self realisation which came only after many failures and attempts to quit drugs and bad experiences. Patience has worked.
Opiate Substitution Therapy has never given up on them; they were always accepted back with open arms. Patience can pay both the parties in the long run.
Social Support: We all are human beings and interactions have influence on how we view ourselves and the world around. If positive social support is not provided for a recovering addict, the chances of success decreases and he/she will have difficulty making life changes which is required for long run abstinence from drug. The road to recovery from drug is the path to better life but also challenging and stressful for most. A patient once told me that “I feel that the society outcast us and even misbehave or ill treat us, due to which we are demoralised, angered and have a very low self esteem, and that’s the very reason why we relapsed.”
OST Centre is a place where the patients feel safe and secure and feel free. Few
social groups coming uninformed, body searching every patient, questioning them and
looking down on them can affect in the process of rehabilitating these recovering
addicts and leading to low self-
I feel that the OST Centre should be respected and be treated like a home for the addicts by the society.

Role of MEA under scanner
India is once again facing strong criticism in its own backyard putting serious question mark over the foreign policy of the present regime. Ever since Nepal adopted new secular constitution there has been widespread protest across the country. The southern minority group known as Madhesis while expressing fear that they will be marginalized in a new federal structure has been strongly protesting against the move. Most of these people who have relatives on Indian side have virtually blocked all the highways that connect the two nations. This has cut off the land locked nation and also has deeply hurt the sentiment of the Nepalese people.

has been critical of Kathmandu for rushing through the constitution, despite opposition

Don’t let students suffer
Dear Editor,
More than two months after the transfer and posting out of Senior Teacher, Geography subject from Govt. HS School Ziro, one of the oldest institute of learning, more than1000 (one thousand) student of Class XI and XII are suffering due to non posting of reliever subject Geography Teacher. Now the student are under utter desperation. Further delay in posting of new teacher will bring them under agitated mood. Now it is peak time for studying before onset of winter which is knocking at the door. Our people friendly government which is promoting qualitative education cannot ignore the cry of more than one thousand student because of no fault of them. It is appeal to the Director of School Education to post a new Subject Teacher immediately.

Conduct fair exam
Dear Editor,
I am writing this with immense pain. This is regarding the way junior engineers in Arunachal Pradesh recruited. One of my seniors cleared the Indian Engineering Service (I.E.S) examination but he couldn’t make it to the post of junior engineer in our state. I was very shocked and was curious to know how a guy like him could not make it to the merit list.
After appearing the exams for myself I came to know why the brilliant student like him couldn’t make it. Lots of malpractice takes place during the exam especially the use of mobile phones in the examination hall.
The candidates take photo of the question paper and text their friends through Whatsapp which in return sends all the answers with the help of Google and text books. Even some invigilator helps them in solving problems. In other words, it is examination of how good you are in cheating.
Everyone is aware of it, but still it continues. Why?
Is there no one to check it or they too are part of it or they are blind? There are many candidates who does hard work and belong to poor financial background.
For them it is not just a job but a source to feed their family.
I appeal all the concern departments on behalf of all those candidates who are working hard and especially on behalf of those who are from a poor background to conduct fair examination for the recently advertised posts in PWD, RWD and Hydro power as well as all the future examinations.

Devotion cannot be earned by force
Dear Editor,
Through the esteemed column of daily, I would like to jot down few points regarding growing trends of asking donations by some of devotees.
The practice of asking for donations to celebrate religious festivals is growing.
At times, devotees are so insistent while asking for donations that common people
are forced to comply with their request. One wonders whether such forceful demands
are a sign of devotion or ruthlessness imposed on their brethren. No religion instructs
its followers to ill-
Devotees who collect donations to celebrate religious festivals must understand the basic tenets of their faith. They must not act in a way that causes pain to others because that is one of the gravest sins mentioned in holy texts. Devotees must realize that devotion cannot be earned by force.

Stand up before it’s too late
Dear Editor,
While a murderer destroys the physical frame of the victim, a rapist degrades and defiles the soul of a helpless female – is the famous quote on this topic.
Rape-
The jewel of our society, pride and honour, women, who shapes the whole world with their beautiful and hard working hands aren’t safe. Panacea for this barbaric and heinous crime is not yet found. Perhaps, irony here is we know that to eradicate and eliminate such barbarism society , each individual, have to change ones thoughts about women , gods best ever creation.

I strongly feel that the prominent cause for such heinous crime is that criminals don’t get exemplary punishment. Unless and until there is no strong law giving severe punishment, the crime will not stop. With each passing day, we will be compelled to read such news in the front page of The Arunachal Times or hear from someone or witness the barbarity in our neighbourhood. Irony that lies In our society that at the very instant everyone is wrapped with wrath, but with the passage of time we forget everything and this is the universal truth. Even though some shows guts, face off such obstacles and asks for the justice, because of the tortoise nature of our law system it takes time to catch the criminal, punish them and give justice to the victim but by then victims itself get tired of asking justice.
It is said when the whole world is silent even a voice becomes powerful, and as under
the same sky and same heaven, sharing same land, same air and same colour of blood,
I strongly demand an exemplary punishment for the rapist. Let him be awarded with
exemplary punishment such that no other antisocial animal in mere future even in
dreams would dare to touch the honour of society-
Nevertheless kidnaps, robbery, murder are at utmost roar in our state.
I kindly and strongly urged and call up all our Arunachalee brothers and sisters to stand up for the rape victims and others and to fight for their justice. If we all go hand in hand fighting against such crimes and aware the society about it, one such can be prevented, stopped or can be eliminated.
This is the crucial and the critical point where if nothing is done, if we fail to get justice for the victim such crimes gets momentum. The time not so far, if these continue and not taken care of, then so called the beautiful land of rising sun would be recalled as land of crimes.
Let us all stand together and march forward and fight and if not now, then when? Because next may be you!

Don’t make a fool of yourself and us
Dear Editor,
I wish to seek the courtesy of your esteemed daily to highlight the demeaning education scenario of our state.
Every parents wish to provide quality education to their children. But the sad part is that Educational Institutes are charging colossal amount of money to provide education. Only, those children have the privilege of studying in these so called private institutes who belong to economically sound family. But, a large number of children belonging to poor family are left behind. Then those children look towards Govt. schools as their ray of hope, to accomplish their dream of becoming somebody in their life.
But sadly, even Govt. Schools are not free from fees. I was deeply surprised when my class teacher asked every student to give Rs.100 each for purchase of white board.
On asking for the reason of collecting money he gloomily says ‘ it’s for SUPW (Socially Useful Productive Work).
Alas! How do I explain my teacher and school authority the meaning of SUPW? Almost all Govt. Schools in our state collect things like electric bulb, brooms, money in the name of SUPW. In some cases they even warn to withhold the exam result in case of failure of submission of those articles.
I don’t understand why these kinds of things are demanded from poor students. Where are all the money allocated for Education Sector during budget.
Every now and then we hear our political leaders promising to provide quality education to the children.
But my dear political leaders time has changed and you can’t make fool of students through your lip service.
When you can’t provide basic necessities like chalks, board, uniforms, books etc and the so called RTE, students welfare schemes exist only in paper. When you talk of providing quality education you are making fool of yourself.
Times have changed.
